A natural herbal raw material in the form of dried and ground marshmallow root (Althaea officinalis L.). Marshmallow root is a valued plant material, rich in mucilages, which, when combined with water, create a distinctive, mild preparation. Marshmallow is traditionally used primarily to prepare an infusion or macerate. The mucilages contained in the root help coat and protect mucous membranes.

METHOD OF PREPARATION AND USE

Marshmallow root macerate: Pour 150 ml of cool or lukewarm water over approximately 2–3 g of crushed root. Leave for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, then strain.

The prepared macerate can be consumed in accordance with the traditional use of the raw material.

Due to the high content of mucilages, the preparation is best prepared in cool or lukewarm water, without boiling.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to marshmallow or any of the product ingredients.

Preparations containing mucilages may delay the absorption of concomitantly taken medications. It is si to leave a gap of at least 1–2 hours between taking marshmallow preparations and taking other medications.
